Hooray for Sunny Days!

Now that our Southern California weather is back be being sunny, I'm excited to pull out my summer outfits. I'm normally not a shorts kind of gal but these shorts from Ruche are just so darn adorable (and comfy too)! I love the scalloped edges and the soft material. I originally wanted them in the mint green (I'm a sucker for anything mint green- even ice cream) but they sold out almost immediately so I settled for the tan color, which is almost just as nice!

I decided to pair the shorts with a super girly top (also from Ruche) and I love the look so much that I wore the exact same outfit the following week, only changing up my shoes and accessories...

I love how my shoes added a bright pop of color (shoes by Seychelles)

I chose my adorable blue bag to be the pop of color (bag from an Anthro sale)

Tad bought me this cardigan from Anthro for my birthday 3 years ago and I still love it so much

Such cute little fishies swimming across my back!
I think this will be my favorite summer outfit yet! Do you have a favorite summer outfit you'll be wearing over and over again for the next upcoming months? Or are you still looking for that perfect something (I'm still looking for a perfect pair of cute clogs).

Nutella Dreamwich

I really love nutella. Really, really, really love. So when I saw this post on A Beautiful Mess, I had to try the recipe for myself! I'm calling them...Nutella Dreamwich.

And how cute are these straws? Get some here.

And check out this nutella snack and drink! Anyone know where can I buy this?

Do you love nutella? Hmmm...nutella vs. peanut butter...what's yummier?

Simple Sunday

Tad and I had a simple Sunday. The kind of day where you don't really have any plans and just roam about. It was really relaxing and we had a great time just being in each other's company...and my outfit perfectly reflected the simple and comfy mood we were in.

Shirt- Boutique in LA; Leggings- Forever 21; Bag- Anthro; Shoes- by Report

Did you have a relaxing Sunday? Or was it full of activities?

Ice Cream Please!

I don't know about you, but I don't need an excuse to eat ice cream. It's my favorite dessert and I usually eat it guilt-free. But in case you do need an excuse to indulge, here are a few:

1) It's my birthday
2) It's your birthday
3) It's incredibly hot outside
4) I need more calcium in my diet
5) I'm feeling sad
6) I'm feeling happy
7) I need to finish it because the power went out
8) I need more space in my freezer (for frozen veggies)
9) It's National Ice Cream Day (July 3rd, but there's actual ice cream days almost weekly!)
10) I have a sore throat

Or you can just say- I'm an adult dammit and I don't need an excuse to eat ice cream!

Can you tell what I'm in the mood for? Yes you guessed it...and not just any regular ice cream scoop but these cute little sandwhiches made from these super fun molds (a gift from my friend Kim-thanks girl!).

Get these here, or similar ones here
These molds are really easy and fun to use! Check out detailed instructions here.

I decided to go with hearts and stars

I baked a thin layer of chocolate chip cookies

Cut-out your shapes while the cookie is still warm

I let these cool before layering

I couldn't resist just eating one...or two

The perfect treat to say I heart you....

Look at me- I'm the Star of the party!

Did I make you scream for ice cream? Go ahead, treat yourself :) And in case you're bored, click here or here for some random facts about this cold and delicious treat.

Pasadena "Vintage" Taco Station

I had a relaxing random weekday off- I slept in until 10am, did some laundry, and went on an afternoon run with the hubby. For dinner, we decided to finally try Norma's Tacos on Green Street. We've been meaning to try this place ever since it first opened in April 2010 and just never got around to it.

This isn't your average taco shop/stand- it's run in Pasadena's historic gas station, which was built in 1924. As I sat next to the vintage gas pump (it read 31cents a gallon!) and sipped my old-fashioned glass coke bottle, I certainly felt like I was transported into a different time era.

The owner, Norma, and her husband run the place and they were very attentive and friendly. We ordered chicken soft tacos, carne asada soft tacos, crispy tacos, and a chicken quesadilla. Our food came out super quick and everything was very yummy. I love the tortillas, which is freshly handmade.

Definitely a little gem in Pasadena and a great hang out spot- my husband and I will be coming back soon! (and for dessert, we walked down the street for some yummy yogurt at Cherry On Top).

So the next time you are in Pasadena, give this place on 1265 E. Green Street a try- you'll love it!

The Happiest Place on Earth!!!

Disneyland is one of my faaaavorite places. My husband and I both own season passes and we can't go more than a couple months without a visit to D-land. I've loved Disneyland as a kid (what kid doesn't?) and I guess I never grew out of my childhood fascination with this place. Tad and I even have a strategy of getting on the most rides in the shortest amount of time (it involves fast passes and running).

Here are a few of my favorite memories of the happiest place on Earth:

1) It was the first place where us kids got to roam around free of our parents. Our parents would set us free (but we had to stick together of course) and we only had to meet up for lunch, dinner, and for the end of day show, whether that be the electric parade, Fanstasmic, or fireworks. The best part was, they would save front row spots for us so we could enjoy the rides until the last minute, and then still have a great view of the show.

2) The first time I felt like a real "big kid" was at D-land. It was when I was finally tall enough to ride space mountain. You see, I was the youngest of all my brothers and cousins so when I was finally able to get on the ride, I finally felt like one of the older kids.

3) Tad and I ran our first half-marathon at Disneyland together (it was also the first time Tad ran a half-marathon) and that leads me to #4

4) It was where Tad proposed to me- he did it at the finish line of the half-marathon...when I was my most sweaty and ugliest self. It definitely caught me off guard but was super sweet- I'll remember it always :)

5)  Tad got stung in the neck by a bee for the first time while waiting in line for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride! Ok, maybe this isn't a highlight but it's still memorable and funny when we think about it. (Another memory but not a highlight that also occurred while waiting in line for the Pirates ride was when I threw up in a potted plant from food poisoning).

6) Tad and I had our engagement photo session at Disneyland- it was so fun! It was awesome to get photos of our favorite places throughout the park- check out the photos here and see if can recognize any favorite spots.

Our last visit to D-land was just last week- here are some photos of our favorite place that I shot with my Diana-Mini- a fun camera for a fun place!

And if you read my post from friday, this photo was taken at California Adventures :)

Do you have fond memories of Disneyland? Do you still love this place and much as I do?
