Happy Heart Month!

Wow it's February already?! Is it just me, or does time seem to go by faster the older you get?

Anyhoo, February always makes me think of Valentines Day and it seems to me that it's either a love it or hate it holiday. For me, it's love! Ever since I was a little kid, I have always loved Valentine's Day. It's just such a fun, silly, romantic, loving day. Even when I was single, I still loved it. I know we shouldn't need an excuse to celebrate love but it's so easy to get caught up in our everyday lives that it's nice to have a dedicated day to celebrate the love we have for one another!

So to kick off February I thought I'd bake a Valentine's Day treat, and what can be better than red velvet cupcakes?

I used my favorite red velvet cake recipe from Bakerella. It always comes out so moist and oh so yummy! Look at the vibrant red color of the batter!

This cream cheese frosting recipe, also from Bakerella, is a favorite of mine. It's so good, I can eat it by the spoonful. Not that I would do that. Okay, maybe just one spoon.

And how cute are these heart paper dollies and paper straws that I picked up from Target the other day? Love!

Happy Heart Month!! xoxo, Tammy
