Cutting Down...

Oh boo, is it Monday already? This past weekend has flown by. Saturday was busy with work but on Sunday Tad and I got to spend the whole day together- we went out for breakfast, went hiking, watched Planet of the Apes, went grocery shopping, and cooked dinner. It was a great day.

Over the weekend I also evaluated my closet and realized that it's been growing. Quickly. I feel like I've been shopping more than ever lately and I'm having a hard time wearing and keeping up with all my new clothes. Which is bad! When I buy a dress, I usually think of all the ways to style it but then I end up wearing the dress only a couple times.

For instance, I love this navy blue dress to bits but I've only worn it once. Once! There's no excuse for that right? Or is having too many dresses a good excuse? So from now on, my goal is to only buy what I REALLY love and to style what I already own in different ways. Rebecca from the Clothes Horse is awesome at doing re-mixes (she does them every Saturday).

It's just so hard when there are so many pretty dresses out there...sigh....

Outfit Details:
Dress- Anthropologie
Shoes- Jeffrey Campbell from Modcloth
Bag- Anthropologie
Necklace- Cocodelayinc shop on Etsy
Belts- Anthropologie (here and here)

Now, after saying all of this, I really really want the sister dress of this dress! It's a pretty wine color...maybe I'll compromise and get it only if it goes on sale????

Do you find that your closet is growing at a rapid pace and that you've only worn each item a few times? How do you keep your spending under control? (btw, didn't Tad do an awesome job taking these photos? He's getting better and better! I especially love the one with the sunlight behind me).

I've been going through the same thing on and off over the past year. Over the weekend I cleaned out everything I hadn't reached for in x amount of time.
I have the dress you're wearing and LOVE it. I actually find it to be a great night out dress. It's cute on you!

My closet grew dramatically after my trip to the US - go figure! I haven't bought much recently, maybe one or two items...I hate throwing clothes out though...seems like a waste. When buying new clothes, I try my hardest to determine whether it's something I'll keep forrever. If not, k tend not to buy it.
Love the dress on you, and 2 belts? I would never have thought!

When I initially saw this picture in my GoogleReader I wondered if it was a dress from Anthro. When the pictures confirmed I was like, yay! If you're having difficulties wearing that dress I'd gladly take it off your hands, LOL! I love the cut of it and it looks so adorable on you. The texture is pretty cool too. I have the wine colored one and can't wait to wear it.

I have the same problem! I have so many dresses from anthro that I've only worn once. I STILL have not worn the spinning lace dress! UGH. (Its a gorgeous dress but I have not had an appropriate occasion to wear it!). I purchased the "noon and night" dress a few weeks ago and I plan to wear it soon. I will say though, most of the dresses I've purchased from anthro have been timeless!

ps. Love that dress on you!

I agree Sammie, all my anthro dresses can be kept forever :) As long as I still fit in them....hehe
