Polaroid (Love)Notes

Guess what I just got? A Fujifilm Instax- and I love it!! Here are a few reasons why it's my favorite new toy:

1) Nostalgia- I remember my parents taking polaroid pictures and I would sit and watch the images appear, as if by magic.
2) Instant gratification (don't we all love that)?
3) It's a great conversation starter.
4) It's super cute and easy to use.

But the most favorite thing I love about this camera is that it's perfect for leaving cute notes around the house for my husband!

Don't have a polaroid camera? You can still leave cute polaroid notes around-  check these out at Urban Outfitters!

Wouldn't receiving a note on a polaroid just make you smile?

Oreo Magic

Omg have I got a cookie for you! My friend Christian showed me a photo of these cookies and I just had to make them. I found the original recipe on Jenny's blog, Picky Palate and all I gotta say is yummmmmm-O. I mean, chocolate chip cookies + oreos, who wouldn't like that? It's genius.

Do you love chocolate chip cookies? And oreos??? Then this cookie is perfect for you! Go ahead, unlock the magic. :)

Downtown Los Angeles

So right now I'm stuck at the Los Angeles Superior Court for Jury Duty- been here all day (I'm actually still sitting around and waiting while I'm writing this post). While I don't mind this citizen duty so much, I still hate wasting a whole day off of work just sitting and waiting around, especially when the weather outside is perfect. At least we got an hour and a half for lunch so I roamed downtown LA, snapping some photos. I usually have my camera on me but I left it at home today because I didn't want it to get confiscated- instead, I used my ipone to take some pictures with Instagram

So here are some instagram photos of downtown LA...

Have you had jury duty recently? I know a few people that actually like serving...are you one of them?

Flea Market Fun

This weekend was pretty great. Tad and I got to spend a lot of time together which was nice because we had a super busy week. We attended our old neighbor's baby shower (so exciting!), went out for Korean BBQ with some friends, visited the flea market at the Pasadena City College (awesome), ate at Pie and Burger (we actually ordered burgers and pie!), watched Kung Fu Panda, baked cookies, and made flautas. It was a pretty perfect weekend :)

I found these awesome goodies at the flea market- how adorable is this little suitcase? And how cool is this chair?

This chair even opens up so you can store things in it- so functional :)
Dress- boutique; Shoes- Aldo; Cardigan- Anthro, Sunglasses- Modern Amusement

And no, I didn't match my outfit to the suitcase and chair- I was actually wearing this when I found the two items! Have you found any goodies at a flea market lately?

Foto Friday

Happy Friday lovely people! Isn't this photo awesome? My friend Kathy took it while we were having a fun shopping day at the Santa Monica Promenade. Our whole day consisted of phrases like "that's so cute!" "Buy it!" then "Yayyyyyyy!" (in case you're wondering, that's a nordstrom bag and an Aldo bag- both shoes).

I hope you have a fanstastic weekend! Here are a few fun things to leave you with:
- check out these awesome oreo chocolate chip cookies (I think I'll bake these this weekend!).
- Deathcab For Cutie has a new album out (released May 31)- I love them.
- I'm thinking about doing this Disposable Memory Project Camera - (I read it on Freefalling Me yesterday)
- Watch this awesome wedding video of Elsie from A Beutiful Mess's big day- it's perfection.

Mompos Love (the dress, not the place)

Have you ever stalked an item, waiting for it to go on sale? I did- it was the Mompos dress by Tracy Reese at Anthropologie. This dress is gorgeous and from all the reviews and sales-people, it fits like a dream. I would touch the dress everytime I went into the store but wouldn't let myself try it on- I knew if I tried it on, it would be over and I would bring the dress home.

Well, I did this for two months and noticed that everytime I went into the store, there were less and less of the dress and even online, it was starting to sell out. So I panicked and did what any other girl would do- I tried on the dress. Since they only had a few left, they didn't have my normal size 2 so I tried on the 0. It fit but was just a tad small- I bought it anyways. My plan was to look for a size 2 but if I couldn't find it, I was gonna squeeze myself into the size 0. Yes, the dress is that gorgeous.

The saleslady did some calls for me and found a store that carried my size- all the way in El Segundo (over an hour drive in traffic)- they offered to ship it for free but I wanted to wear it that upcoming weekend so I made the drive. The size 2 fit to perfection and the dress made it home with me.

The dress is even more gorgeous in person- the lace overlay over denim-blue is so pretty. I think it'll pair well with so many colors- pale yellow, mint green, pink, etc. If you like this dress, grab it now while you can- I don't think this one will make it over to the sales rack!

I'm so glad it's almost Friday- I can't wait for the weekend to come :)

Goodbye 20's, Hello 30's

Big 3-0, I'm ready for you!

June is here and this month I will be turning 30. Wow...thirty. While thirty does sound a little old to me, I am not sad about it, nor do I feel that old (yet). These past few years have been amazing and I think the years ahead are going to be fanstatic!

When I was a little girl, I use to think about what I would be when I grew up, what kind of house I would live in, and of course, who I would marry- and now all that has happened! In the past 4 years, I've started my career, bought an adorable house that I love, and married my best friend.

So what's next? What now? Well, I'm not quite sure but I do know that I'm extrememly happy and in a good place with my life. I am enjoying every day- not only do I cherish the time I spend with my husband, family, and friends, but I am also discovering many new hobbies that I love.

As most people, I keep a running list in my head of what I want to do and where I want to go. Since I'm approaching a milestone birthday, I thought now would be a fun time to take a look at it in writing, and to see how many things I've checked off and what I still would like to do. So here it is...

Things I want to do:
- Swim with dolphins (maybe in Tahiti?!)
- Go on a hot-air balloon ride
- Take a Segway Tour
- Bike ride along Venice and Santa Monica
- Swim with (and pet) manatees
- Foster a dog

- Do a triathalon

- Live in s surf town (Santa Barbara)
- Eat at French Laundry in Napa

Things I want to learn:
- Learn to surf

- Take a photography class
- Take a photoshop class
- Learn to snowboard
- Take Scuba Diving lessons
- Learn how to kitesurf
- Learn how to play the guitar
- Take a cake decorating class
- Take a letterpress class

Nearby places I want to visit:
- Griffith Park Observatory
- Pasadena Flea Market
- The Getty Center
- La Brea Tarpits
- MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art)
- The Whaley House
- The Huntington Library

Far away places I want to visit:
- Grand Canyon (again)
- Catalina Island
- Yosemite
- Disneyworld in Florida
- The pyramids in Egypt
- Angkor Wat in Cambodia
- Macchu Picchu in Peru

I'm sure I will continue to add to this list (and hopefully check things off) as time goes by.  What are some of the things you absolutely must do in your life? Do you have a running list in your head or do you have it written out?
