Vintage Love

I couldn't believe my luck when I found this dress at the flea market, and in my size! I didn't have to alter one single thing! Because I'm so short, I sometimes shy away from longer hemlines but in this case, I thought it looked pretty just the way it is.

It's rare when I come away from the flea market or thrift shop with such great and cheap finds, so when I do, I get super excited. Sometimes I feel that I'm unlucky, or maybe I just don't thrift shop enough.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to live in this dress all through spring and summer.

Do you have any secrets to scoring great vintage finds?

Monday Morning

Happy Monday lovelies!

Did you have a great weekend? My weekend wasn't too exciting, as it was filled mostly with work (and rain) but I did manage to pick up this pretty vintage dress at the flea market.

Isn't it gorgeous? I'm already thinking of all the pretty ways to style this lovely thing!

I'm off to have brunch with my best friend Sharon and spend this pretty (but slightly chilly) day outdoors. Have a great day! xoxo, Tammy

A Mod Night Out

I love thrift and vintage store shopping but I don't do it as often as I like. So only once in a while do I come across a great find and this dress is one of them. The style and print of this dress is very mod and reminiscent of the 1960's and I couldn't wait to put it on.

The dress fit me perfectly except that it was too long and went way past my knees. I decided to hem it myself. I'm not quite sure what happened but it ended up being a tad bit too short. It's a good thing I'm only 5'2 so I could still put it on without showing the world my underwear. Oops.

Dress- thrifted
Shoes- by Report (on sale here!)
Headband- Anthropologie

I guess the next time I hem a dress myself I need to be more careful!

Oh, my doggies wanted in on the photo action too.

Vintage Stripes

Hello lovelies! How was your weekend? It was my weekend to work. Boo (hospitals never close). But I still managed to squeeze in a little bit of fun. Friday night Tad and I went to Matsuri for an awesome sushi dinner, then on Saturday we went out karaoke-ing with some friends, and on Sunday we had dinner with our good friend Kathy. Not too bad for a weekend that was also filled with work.

I wore this dress to dinner on Friday night. The dress is from one of my favorite vintage store, Owl Talk in Eagle Rock. The store is owned by two of the sweetest sisters and one of them even sews vintage pattern dresses made from vintage fabric (I have a couple of these dresses and they are adorable). They even have an Etsy shop here. See how much I love you guys? Sharing is caring.

Outfit Details:
Dress- vintage
Purse- Anthropologie
Belt- Modcloth
Shoes- Seychelles from Anthropologie

What did you do over the weekend? Anything fun?

Places I Love- Pink Plum Antiques

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Oooohhhhh I found a new little thrift/antique store just down the street from my house- Pink Plum Antiques. I can't believe I never noticed it before! I walked in and just knew that this store was special. They had racks and racks of clothes, old records and books, and an awesome display of vintage kitchenware and vintage toys. LOVE.

This store may be little but it's packed to the brim with so many awesome things. I can't wait to go back!

Do you have a local store that you love and get excited to go into?

Flea Market Fun

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend, with fireworks, BBQ's and all! I had to work half a day on Saturday but I spent the rest of the weekend at the beach and it was pretty great. I also took a trip to the Pasadena City College Flea Market early Sunday morning. I'm lucky enough to live just a few walking minutes away. I wasn't looking for anything in particular but I bought 6 items that I was really excited about- a set of 3 really cute vintage pots/pans, a little wicker suitcase (I'm gonna use it to hold my sewing patterns), and 2 gorgeous vintage dresses.

I think I'm most excited about the dresses- this lady was selling so many pretty ones but I limited myself to just 2...I kinda wished I bought more of them now. The dresses just need to be taken in a little on the top and I'll post pictures of them on me when I get them finished.

Did you find any thrift goodies over the long weekend? Share what you found in the comments!

Flea Market Fun

This weekend was pretty great. Tad and I got to spend a lot of time together which was nice because we had a super busy week. We attended our old neighbor's baby shower (so exciting!), went out for Korean BBQ with some friends, visited the flea market at the Pasadena City College (awesome), ate at Pie and Burger (we actually ordered burgers and pie!), watched Kung Fu Panda, baked cookies, and made flautas. It was a pretty perfect weekend :)

I found these awesome goodies at the flea market- how adorable is this little suitcase? And how cool is this chair?

This chair even opens up so you can store things in it- so functional :)
Dress- boutique; Shoes- Aldo; Cardigan- Anthro, Sunglasses- Modern Amusement

And no, I didn't match my outfit to the suitcase and chair- I was actually wearing this when I found the two items! Have you found any goodies at a flea market lately?
