Oreos for the Doctor

Do you know what today is? It's National Doctors Day! So I thought I'd do something sweet for the hubby for all the hard work and long hours that he's put in and what better way to celebrate than with cupcakes?

Tad loves loves loves oreo cookies so I just had to make him these oreo cupcakes by Bakerella

These cupcake turned out great and Tad loved his little surprise. Do you have any special doctors in your life? If so, don't forget to wish them a happy doctors day!

Floral Power

One of my favorite store is Anthropologie but it's been a while since I've bought anything from there. There just isn't a whole lot there right now that's calling my name. But I did come across this dress from the sale rack last week and I gotta say I am loving it.

Florals aren't normally my style and I usually go for more whimsical prints (like polka dots, I LOVE polka dots), but there's something about this floral pattern that I love. It's super easy and comfortable to wear, and it's a great wardrobe addition of a simple but "dressier" dress. Most of my dresses are a little too cutesy to wear for fancier occasions but I think this one works, yes? I'm almost tempted to get the polka dot version too.

Outfit Details:
Dress- Minutiae Dropwaist Dress from Anthro
Shoes- Ivanka Trump
Heart necklace- Anthro

Do you like to wear floral patterns? Or are you more of a whimsical and polka dot kinda gal?

Vintage Love

I couldn't believe my luck when I found this dress at the flea market, and in my size! I didn't have to alter one single thing! Because I'm so short, I sometimes shy away from longer hemlines but in this case, I thought it looked pretty just the way it is.

It's rare when I come away from the flea market or thrift shop with such great and cheap finds, so when I do, I get super excited. Sometimes I feel that I'm unlucky, or maybe I just don't thrift shop enough.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to live in this dress all through spring and summer.

Do you have any secrets to scoring great vintage finds?

Foto Friday- Disney Fun!

I love playing around with lomography cameras and my most recent purchase was the fish eye. I love it! I love how the photos come out and it's always a fun surprise to see what kind of images I captured. I also find it kinda fun to drop off my film and have to wait for it to get processed and developed. It's fun suspense!

Plus, it forces me to get my photos developed, which was actually my new years resolution. It's just so easy to take photos and keep them filed on your computer but I really want to take the time to print them out  and put them in an album. It makes it much more fun to look at and this way, we'll have something that we and our kids (and grandkids..and great-grandkids) can look back at.

These photos were taken at Disneyland and came off my first roll of film with this camera. I can't wait to start taking some more!

This last photo is my favorite- it's tradition that we get ice cream here at the end of our Disneyland day! I also love how you can see Tad's reflection of him taking the photo
Do you print out your photos and put them in albums?

Happy Friday! xoxo,Tammy

Minty Green

I just realized that my post for St. Patrick's Day never went up. Oops!

Tad and I actually stayed in for a movie night on St. Patty's Day but I did wear a green get-up the day before to dinner with friends.

I came across this dress online and it was love at first site. I purchased it and hoped that it would look (and fit) just as great in person. When I put it on, I actually gasped! I love it so much! The details on the top is gorgeous and the fit is perfect. It's also really comfy and I love the flow-y feel of the dress. It's the perfect length for me and I love it, love it, love it!

It also comes in cream but I'm a sucker for anything minty colored.

Outfit Details:
Shoes- Seychelles
Purse- Anthropologie

I can't wait to wear this dress again- I'm thinking of pairing it with red next time!

Monday Morning

Happy Monday lovelies!

Did you have a great weekend? My weekend wasn't too exciting, as it was filled mostly with work (and rain) but I did manage to pick up this pretty vintage dress at the flea market.

Isn't it gorgeous? I'm already thinking of all the pretty ways to style this lovely thing!

I'm off to have brunch with my best friend Sharon and spend this pretty (but slightly chilly) day outdoors. Have a great day! xoxo, Tammy

Kissed by the Sun

Sometimes Tad takes my outfit photos for my blog but when he's not around, I have to rely on my good ol' tripod and remote. Like today. I wanted to try taking some "sun-kissed" photos but it was harder taking by myself than I thought it would be! But I still had a good time running around and clicking my remote.

Luckily no one was around to wonder what I was up to. I get embarrassed when people stare at me and my tripod, wondering why I'm taking photos of myself. Haven't they ever heard of a self-portrait? =P

Outfit Details:
Dress- Ruche (also worn here)
Socks- Urban Outfitters
Shoes- Aldo
Necklace- Forever 21

Do you take your own blog photos or are you lucky enough to have someone take them for you? If you take them yourself, do you have any tips to share?

A Mod Night Out

I love thrift and vintage store shopping but I don't do it as often as I like. So only once in a while do I come across a great find and this dress is one of them. The style and print of this dress is very mod and reminiscent of the 1960's and I couldn't wait to put it on.

The dress fit me perfectly except that it was too long and went way past my knees. I decided to hem it myself. I'm not quite sure what happened but it ended up being a tad bit too short. It's a good thing I'm only 5'2 so I could still put it on without showing the world my underwear. Oops.

Dress- thrifted
Shoes- by Report (on sale here!)
Headband- Anthropologie

I guess the next time I hem a dress myself I need to be more careful!

Oh, my doggies wanted in on the photo action too.
